So you’ve made the decision to gather up the family and take a Colorado ski vacation – now what? Booking the right lodging is crucial to a successful trip. That house, condo or hotel room is going to be your home base; the place you relax after a long day on the slopes. While the options around Summit County may be endless or overwhelming, staying right at Copper Mountain is your best bet for family-friendly ski resort lodging.
What’s unique about Copper’s lodging is there are many options available. From a hotel-style room to a 6 bedroom luxury home and everything in between, you’ll find something that works for your group. The best feature of all lodging here is the walking distance to the slopes – or lack thereof. Every unit is no farther than a few hundred yards. This is the ultimate family-friendly amenity especially with those little ones clumsily clunking around in their ski boots.
With all of its naturally-divided terrain, everyone in the family can have fun all day long on the mountain.
Copper Mountain consists of three villages: Center, East and West. Thanks to the mountain’s naturally-divided terrain, follow the mountain’s lead when it comes to picking your unit. In West Village, you’ll find a beginner’s paradise with uninterrupted “green” terrain therefore if the family likes to cruise the mellow slopes then West Village is for you. There, you’ll find Lewis Ranch - a gated luxury community that features ski in and ski out homes with more than enough room for everyone. Other buildings/neighborhoods located closest to West Village are the Union Creek Townhomes, the Cache and the Cirque.
Center Village is where you’ll find the hub of all the action. With several family-friendly options within a 100 yard walk of the chairlifts, you can’t go wrong with any of the buildings like Taylor’s Crossing, Copper One or Tucker Mountain Lodge. All ability levels can appreciate what Center Village has to offer plus those non-skiers in the group can enjoy shopping, restaurants and the new Rocky Mountain Coaster.
When it's time to explore off the slopes, everything at Copper is within walking distance or a short shuttle ride away.
East Village is home to Copper’s more advanced terrain. If you’re looking for a spot that’s a little quieter and has a smaller community feel, East Village might be the place for your family. While you’ll find big condo buildings like Copper Springs and Peregrine, there are neighborhoods of 3 and 4 bedroom townhomes called the Masters and the Woods.
Can’t secure lodging in your desired village? Don’t fret! Copper offers free shuttle service nearly 24/7 that will get you around easily. If you’re stay in East Village and the kids need to get to Ski School in West Village, no problem. If you’re staying in West Village and Grandma wants to check out the shopping in Center Village, she can hop on a bus in just minutes to get to the store fronts.
With great lodging options and one of the most laid-back vibes you’ll find at any ski resort in Summit County and all of Colorado, Copper Mountain is a top choice for family ski resort lodging.
Make a lifetime of memories on the best ski vacation!
