COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. – Jan. 31, 2018 – WinterBike is back for the 7th year on Feb. 3 at Copper Mountain and the whole family is invited to participate in the twilight cycling event.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, a vendor village will be set up in Burning Stones Plaza featuring demos and experts from REI, Otso Cycles, Copper Sports and Reeb.
At 5 p.m. there will be a free JuniorBike race for kids ages 10 and older. The 2 mile JuniorBike course begins in Center Village and extends across West East Villages in a loop. An awards ceremony will be held promptly after the race finishes in Burning Stones Plaza.
Following the JuniorBike race, the WinterBike race kicks off at 6:30 p.m. in Center Village and offers an 8 mile ride around Copper’s West, Center and East Villages.
To join in on the winter cycling fun, all participants will need a helmet and a headlamp. There is a $20 entry fee for the WinterBike race that supports Cloud City Wheelers’ education and advocacy efforts. Racers are encouraged to bring their own bike, however demos will be available from Otso Cycles, Copper Sports and REI.
