The snow has been falling and ski season is in full swing! Whether you’re thinking about your first ski day, or your fifteenth, we have some travel hacks that will help you make the most of your trip to Copper.
Help the environment, take a couple extra cars off the road and enjoy some good company by carpooling to the resort. Check out SkiCarpool, Rocky Mountain Ride, or carpool with friends. The Copper Carpool Patrol will be out looking to reward cars with three or more people with fun Copper swag.
2. Use public transportation.
The Town of Frisco is located just six miles east of Copper and offers free parking in public lots off of Main St. or at the Frisco Transfer Center. From either of these places, you can hop on the free Summit Stage to catch a ride to Copper. Check out the schedule and route info.
3. Avoid peak arrival and departure times.
Get a jump on the day and arrive before 8:00 a.m. to ensure yourself a good parking spot. Not a morning person? Sleep in, have a leisurely morning and arrive after 1:00p.m. when the early birds are leaving.
4. Opt for Après!
Avoid the afternoon rush and reward yourself with après specials and live music at your favorite Copper restaurants and bars. Check out all the great deals here.
5. Stay informed.
Follow @coppercomms on Twitter for real-time parking updates. We’ll let you know when lots are full and when they open back up. When it comes to I-70 delays or closures, sign up for notifications at cotrip.org.
6. Visit mid-week.
Avoid the weekend rush and visit Copper during the week for the best deals on lift tickets and lodging. This includes our Play Forever Fridays, where we’re offering $99 online lift tickets every Friday through March 27, and a portion of the proceeds benefits a local charity. Take a look at all the great causes we’re supporting.
7. Stay with us.
Who doesn’t love a weekend getaway? Skip the traffic and soak those ski legs in the hot tub. You can find rooms as low as $148 a night.
