Summer is coming up quick and although many winter resorts will be closing, Woodward Summer Camp is back again. Camp begins June 3rd with availability through the end of July. Skiers, snowboarders, skateboarders, BMXers, mountain bikers, scooter riders, cheer and tumble athletes of all levels can find themselves progressing by attending a week at Woodward Copper’s Summer Camp.
Each week has different professional athletes visiting; not only do they give their own personal advice in building progression but their sponsors also play a big part in giveaways and contests. Whether you’re looking to get skateboarding tips from David Reyes, or joining Capita week with Scott Stevens and Jess Kimura, Line Skis week with Will Wesson, or tumbling with Kiara Nowlin, every camper of all levels is guaranteed inspiration from one of these legends.
Some sports like skateboarding will take the campers off-site to visit other skate parks but for the most part Woodward has two designated facilities for campers. The Barn is Woodward’s main indoor-training facility that consists of Olympic grade trampolines, spring floor, tumble track, zones for scooters, BMX, and skateboarding, equipment for ParkSki and ParkSnowboard training. Pipeline Park is Woodward’s on snow summer-park and has a top to bottom run. Depending on the weather, this park can consist of a medium jump-line, quarter pipe and about 20-30 features.
Copper Mountain does anticipate new equipment for American Eagle and Flyer lift in Center Village. They will be installing an 8 person gondola for Eagle and Flyer will be a 6 person chair with a bubble enclosure. Due to these improvements, Copper will not be holding an on-snow Woodward Public Park for Summer 2018. However, the WreckTangle will be back again this summer and is available to the public to purchase to improve their ninja skills and overcome obstacles as well as the Rocky Mountain Alpine Coaster.
Woodward Summer Camp offers all the summer tools for progression in each action sport and most importantly, the knowledgeable staff and professionals to facilitate the fun and confidence in each camper. Signing up is an easy process - register here.
