COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — July 31, 2018 — Copper Mountain invites guests to enjoy the many unique one-of-a-kind events and experience being Raised on Colorado. From jam sessions with guitar legends, to a women’s yoga campout on the mountain, as well as an exhilarating 200 mile relay race through the Rocky Mountains, Copper’s specially curated August lineup is sure to keep the whole family entertained.
Copper Triangle: On Aug. 4, I-25 Kia.com partners with the Davis Phinney Foundation for the 13th annual Copper Triangle, a 78-mile alpine cycling event that features challenging climbs over Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass and Vail Pass. The Copper Triangle has long been considered one of Colorado’s classic road rides and all proceeds raised benefit Parkinson’s Disease research.
Guitar Town: Experience the best guitar playing in the world at the 14th annual Guitar Town, Aug. 10-12. The weekend includes three days of free acoustic and electric performances, guitar workshops, free guitar repairs from the Guitar Center and musical activities for the kids. Musicians expected to attend include Al Di Meola, Robben Ford, Coco Montoya, John Jorgenson and more.
Ragnar Relay: Arguably one of the most difficult Ragnar Relays in the country, this overnight run kicks off at Copper on Aug. 10 with teams of 6 or 12 challenged to make their way across 200 miles of the Colorado Rockies to Aspen/Snowmass.
NEW! Copper Crush Wine Fest: On Aug. 18-19, wine lovers are invited to a new event that takes the “frou frou” out of wine tasting with fun sessions like Wine and Candy Bar Pairing, as well as Vino and Van Gogh for as little as $10 per class. Copper Crush will feature more than 10 wineries from around the Colorado region and beyond.
NEW! REI Women’s Yoga Campout with Athleta: Imagine holding Mountain Pose while being embraced by the spectacular peaks of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The new REI Women’s Campout with Athleta invites women to Copper Mountain on Aug. 18-19 for an evening of camp games, wine tastings and yoga at 10,000 feet. With access to an exclusive campsite on the mountain, yogis will be able to immerse themselves in the magnificent beauty of the mountains and rejuvenate with a variety of yoga sessions and activities.
Cider Circus: The 4th annual Cider Circus returns to Copper Aug. 24-25 offering 75 craft ciders and beers for sampling from cider houses and breweries based in Colorado and beyond. Guests will enjoy pairing events, aerial and acrobat shows, free live music and children’s activities.
NEW! Weekday Warrior Activity Pass: From now until the end of summer, guests who spend $30 at Copper Monday-Thursday can turn their receipt into Guest Services for a free Weekday Warrior Activity Pass for same-day use. The Weekday Warrior Activity Pass is valid for the Woodward Copper WreckTangle, Rocky Mountain Coaster, rock climbing, go-karts, bumper boats, hydrobikes and mini golf.
NEW! REI Adventure Station at Copper Mountain: In addition to the August 18th Women’s Yoga Campout, the REI Adventure Station is offering an array of unique outdoor education classes for all interests through August, including Ales and Astronomy, Lunch at the Summit: Copper Peak, Colorado Summit Hikes: Jacque's Peak, and Summer Mountain Mixology.
Weekly programming at Copper also includes Friday or Saturday date night for parents with Kids Night Out, Friday Brews and Tunes favored among locals, Copper Campfire and Fireworks for the family on Saturday, Mountain Pose Yoga sessions on Sunday along with Blues, Brunch and Stroll.
