If you're thinking about applying to work at Copper, don't hesitate! Take it from our Childcare Manager/Play-cation Designer Jennifer Young from Davenport, IA.
What brought you to Copper?
As a family, we’ve been vacationing at Copper for over 10 years. When we would look at choosing a place for our ski vacation, we always turned back to Copper due to its vibe and many amenities. When my husband and I began reaching for a move to Colorado, Copper was our first, and frankly, only choice. We’ve found it to be a natural fit for our play, work and life!
What does a typical day look like for you?
It starts with arriving and preparing the center for the children who will attend for the day. This includes going over any schedule changes and planned activities with the teachers on schedule. Once the day begins, I'm engaging with the teachers and children in exploration activities designed to make the children feel at ease and with their vacation in mind.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
The people. Guests and coworkers alike! It's seeing their enjoyment as they go about both work and play; it shares their perspective of the mountain with me.
What’s one thing about your job that you’d want people to know?
The teachers have dubbed me the play-cation designer because it is our goal to give the children an experience, not just pass the time. We keep the realization that this is their vacation too and we want them to really enjoy it. The side benefit is that we are hopefully fostering a love for the mountain and exploration of new experiences at the same time.
What do you like most about working for Copper as a whole?
No part or job is too small. We all make Copper an amazing place for both guests and employees. Everyone is valued.
If someone was thinking about applying for a job at Copper, what would you tell them?
Don’t walk, LEAP!!! It may just be the life you were intended for!
